President, Senior Electrical Engineer

John is the Founder and President of Jarvis Engineering Consultants, a leading electrical consulting firm established in 1994. With over 30 years of experience in the industry, John has become a renowned expert in electrical engineering and architectural lighting design.

John’s passion for electrical engineering started at a young age of fourteen when he worked with his Father’s firm during summers, learning the craft of drawing blueprints and drafting. He went on to graduate with a diploma in electrical engineering technology from NAIT in 1984, where he worked as a technologist for two years before pursuing his undergraduate studies at the University of Arizona. In 1990, he graduated with a BSc in electrical engineering and obtained his Professional Engineer designation from APEGA just a year later, becoming the third-generation electrical engineer in his family.

Throughout his career, John has worked on a diverse range of projects, including education, commercial, mixed-use, residential, healthcare, industrial, worship, civil, athletics, and recreation facilities. His extensive knowledge and experience have enabled him to provide practical solutions to unique design challenges. He is highly regarded for his depth of knowledge and ability to deliver results-oriented solutions.

In 2013, John’s passion for architectural lighting design led him to obtain his Lighting Certified Professional designation, which has further bolstered his credentials in the industry. John’s client-oriented approach, friendly demeanor, and helpful nature have earned him a reputation as a highly trusted consultant and an expert in his field.
