Our focus is not simply on completing a project but also on the way a project is completed. Delivery, both final and milestones, will be on or ahead of schedule. Specifications will be thorough, relative, and fair with no boiler plate. Problems, when they arise, will be solved efficiently and fairly.

Our mission is to provide excellence in engineering services focused on contributing to the success of our clients.

We take pride in every project as if it were our own.

How It All Began

Jarvis Engineering is a name that carries significant history in the consulting engineering industry in Western Canada. My grandfather, Reginald Jarvis, P.Eng. was a pioneer electrical engineer who, in the early 1930’s, started one of the first consulting electrical engineering practices in Western Canada. My father, Richard Jarvis, P.Eng., also aspired to electrical engineering and, on my grandfather’s passing in 1972, he took over the practice and evolved Jarvis Engineering Ltd. into one of the most highly regarded engineering firms in the city of Edmonton. In my early teens, I decided I wanted to be the third generation of electrical engineers in my family.

After moving from Edmonton to Abbotsford in 1994, I started Tri-Linear Electrical Engineering, a partnership with Dave White, an engineer who owned a local mechanical consulting firm, Tri-Linear Engineering. With the goal of bringing the family name back into the business, in 1998 I bought out Mr. White and, in 1999, the company was re-named Jarvis Engineering Consultants Ltd. Our logo today is derived from the original logo developed by my grandfather and father.

Today, we operate with more than 20 highly knowledgeable and skilled personnel including Engineers, Technologists, and support staff. We are licensed to practice in the provinces of BC and Alberta with our head office in Abbotsford and a regional office in Kelowna.
