REVIT Technician

Jarvis Engineering Consultants is presently seeking an experienced Electrical Revit Technician to join our team in either the Abbotsford or Kelowna office. The ideal candidate will be proficient in contributing to the design of building services and possess exceptional Revit modelling skills. As a team player, you will demonstrate strong motivation and excellent communication skills. You will work under the direct supervision of a project engineer or designer and have the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of projects.

If you possess the aforementioned qualities, the following responsibilities may be expected of you:

  • Adhere to the company’s BIM standards.
  • Complete assigned design tasks within the designated timeline.
  • Generate Autodesk Revit drawings from sketches, mark-ups, and/or electrical building system designs.
  • Verify modelled content against sketches/mark-ups to ensure accuracy of work.
  • Have familiarity with structural and architectural models to identify space limitations and interferences.
  • Develop system layouts in co-ordination with the structural, architectural, and mechanical components of a building.
  • Be capable of sizing/designing services in accordance with office standards and local codes.
  • Check layouts of services for interferences with other components of the building such as structure, ceilings, diffusers, ducting, piping, etc.
  • Undertake any other tasks assigned by Project Managers required to assist in the completion of projects.

Electrical Designer

Jarvis Engineering is seeking an experienced Electrical Designer to join our team in Abbotsford or Kelowna. We’re looking for an engineer with a passion for electrical building services design, who can confidently perform load calculations and create drawings in Autodesk Revit. As an ideal candidate, you enjoy tackling new challenges and thrive when working efficiently. You’re not afraid to speak up and ask tough questions, and your communication skills are both friendly and direct.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for preparing drawings, specifications, and reports for project delivery. You’ll design building systems in accordance with office standards, municipal/provincial building codes, and other applicable standards. Additionally, you’ll check layouts and services for continuity, develop lighting/power distribution layouts, perform load calculations, and liaise with project consultants to coordinate design requirements.

To excel in this role, you must be familiar with structural, architectural, and mechanical models, and have the ability to design electrical building systems directly in Revit/CAD while adhering to company BIM/CAD standards. You’ll work with clash/coordination reports, liaise with suppliers and/or manufacturers, assist with work distribution, and participate in project/technical meetings. Finally, you’ll assist in construction administration by reviewing equipment shop drawings, conducting site visits/reviews, and preparing change notices/instructions as necessary.
