Out with the old, in with the safe and sustainable: Montgomery Middle School is set for a major upgrade.
After proudly serving the Coquitlam community for over six decades, Montgomery Middle School is getting a well-deserved makeover. At 61 years old, the current building has stood the test of time—but with safety and sustainability now top priorities, it’s time for a fresh start.
Scheduled for completion in 2028, the brand-new Montgomery Middle School will offer a modern, safe, and inclusive learning environment for up to 600 students. More than just a facelift, this project is part of a broader seismic upgrade initiative, ensuring the building meets modern safety standards to protect students and staff. But safety isn’t the only focus—this new school is being designed with the future in mind. Environmental considerations are playing a central role in the planning and construction process.
This exciting redevelopment is a significant investment in both the safety and education of Coquitlam’s youth. With modern facilities, environmentally conscious design, and capacity for growth, the new Montgomery Middle School is set to be a cornerstone of the community.
