Construction is moving ahead on the largest public-school infrastructure project in B.C.’s history — a joint campus in Langley that will add 2,800 new student spaces. Located in the rapidly growing Willoughby area, the project brings together two new schools, Smith Secondary and Smith Middle, on a shared campus designed to maximize space and support long-term community needs. Both schools are expected to open in fall 2027, with capacity for 1,900 secondary students and 900 middle-school students.
The campus will include a neighbourhood learning centre for child care and community programs, dedicated gyms and elective spaces for each school, and shared mechanical systems to boost efficiency. Sustainability is a major focus, with greenhouse-gas-reducing design features aimed at cutting long-term energy costs. Since 2017, the Province has invested nearly $600 million to expand and upgrade Langley’s schools, including approximately $203 million for Smith Secondary and $103 million for Smith Middle.
We’re incredibly grateful to be part of a project of this scale and impact — one that will create safe, modern, and inspiring spaces for learning and connection.
